Yahudilikte İnanç Esasları:
Yahudiliğin İnanç Esasları: Tevrat’ta iki yerde geçen On Emir’de, inanç konularından sadece Allah’a iman meselesi üzerinde durulur. Diğer iman esasları açık değildir: Yahudiliğin İnanç Esasları: Ayrıca Yahudi’ler Tanrı’nın kendilerini seçtiğine ve Hz.Mûsâ’nın şahsında onlarla ahitleştiğine inanırlar. Allah’ı Millî Tanrı olarak görürler. Allah’a yorulmak ve dinlenmek gibi sıfatlar verirler. Mûsevî’likte âhiret inancı kapalı olup, melek ve kader inancı da çoğunlukla kabul edilir.
Yahudilikte İbadet şekilleri: Yahudi’ler ibadetlerini Sinagog adi verilen mabetlerinde yaparlar. Günde üç vakit ibadet yapılır. En önemli ibadetleri Tevrat levhalarını okumaktır. Erkekler kıpa ile baslarını örterler. Cenazeler yıkanıp, kefene sarılır ve toprağa gömülür. Erkek çocuklar, doğumdan sekiz gün sonra sünnet edilir. İbadet günleri Cumartesi’dir. Domuz, tek tırnaklı, vahşî ve kanları akmamış hayvanları, midye, istiridye gibi kabuklu deniz hayvanlarını yemek yasaktır.

Yahûdîlik, yaşayan ilâhî kaynaklı dînlerden en eskisi, fakat mensûbu en az olanıdır. Bugün yeryüzünde 15-20 milyon civârında Yahûdî vardır. Bunların dört buçuk milyonu İsrâil’de, 6 milyonu ise Yahûdî nüfûsunun en yoğun olduğu, A.B.D.’de yaşamaktadır. Yahûdîlik, Bâbil Sürgünü’nden sonra millî bir dîn hâline getirilmiştir Aslında bugünkü Yahûdîlik’in bir dîn mi, yoksa bir millet mi olduğu pek açık değildir. Yahûdîliğin Kutsal Kitâbı Tevrât’ın Balam Hikâyesi’nde şöyle bir târif geçmektedir:
İşte, ayrıca oturan bir kavimdir ve milletler arası sayılmayacaktır
Yahûdîliğin sembolü, Yedi kollu şamdan ve Altı köşeli Yıldız’dır
Yahûdî:İshâk oğlu Ya’kûb’un on iki oğlu vardı. Dördüncü oğlunun adı Yuda veyâ Yahuda idi. Dolayısıyla onun adına izâfeten İsrâîloğulları’na Yahûdî denilmiştir.

There are the Vedas and Upanishads and then there are Ramayana and Mahabaratha with texts like Vishnu Purana and Shiva Purana tagging along. Often times we wonder why we have so many scriptures with a majority of thoughts and knowledge being repeated redundantly in many of them. Were our ancestors so idle to create so much content? Were they so mad to duplicate content and effort or is there a method to their madness? Read on to find out.

Our Christmas holiday celebrates the birth of Jesus the Divine Child. The Divine Child is an archetypal figure in myth and psychology, for good reason. If we tend to him properly, he can help integrate our psyches and enhance our spirituality. The Christmas holiday prompts us to do so. There is no better Christmas gift to ourselves.

From the mythological, psychological, and spiritual perspectives, the birth, life, and teachings of Jesus together with his suffering and resurrection can be understood as representing the integration of our total psyche (the “Self”, capitalized), specifically the integration of the unconscious part of our psyche with the conscious part (the “self,” not capitalized) (Jung  1969a, pp. 36-71). Carl Jung called this integration process “individuation,” which results in a person reaching a higher level of consciousness and self-awareness, and being more advanced spiritually. Last Saturday, we had our monthly book club meeting where one member quoted from a book of local farmer lore: about how the earth was not farmed for a certain period of time when it was considered to be menstruating! I immediately remembered a piece of lore of the Kerala fisher-folk I had heard years back.

In Kerala, we have Saturday something called “chaakara”, when fish come to the surface in great numbers and the fishermen have a fine time just scooping up the fish in large numbers. The interesting thing is that for some days before this, the sea turns red: and the fishermen don’t venture out. Kadalamma (“Mother Sea”) is supposed to be having her periods.
